Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (out now)
Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper), and Baby Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) return to save the galaxy in the latest Marvel adventure — but this time their numbers increase thanks to the presence of anti-heroes Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Yondu (Michael Rooker), newcomer Mantis (Pom Klementieff), and the mysterious Ego (a living planet played by Kurt Russell).
Captain Underpants (June 2)
Based on the popular children’s book, Captain Underpants focuses on two kids (voiced by Kevin Hart and Thomas Middleditch) who hypnotize their principal (voiced by Ed Helms) into thinking he’s the slow-witted superhero, Captain Underpants.
Wonder Woman (June 2)
For the first time ever, the most powerful superhero ever gets her own standalone movie. Gal Gadot stars as the title Amazonian princess with Chris Pine, Robin Wright, and Danny Huston rounding out the cast.
Spider-Man: Homecoming(July 7)
The friendly neighborhood webslinger is rebooted anew, this time with Tom Holland in the title role. Holland’s Peter Parker made his debut in last year’s Captain America: Civil War and will get a chance to swing through the streets of Queens (and navigate the treacherous waters of high school) in Jon Watts’ new take on the teen hero.
Marvel’s The Defenders (Aug. 18)
Debuting on Netflix this summer, The Defenders brings together Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) to save Hell’s Kitchen and the rest of New York City in this mash-up of the popular Marvel Netflix series.
Marvel’s Inhumans (Sept. 1)
Coming just before fall, Inhumans puts Marvel’s Royal Family on the big and small screen with an IMAX debut of the series’ first two episodes followed by a rollout on ABC.
