Paris Hilton 1 2 Over 50 stores worldwide, 19 product lines, $2.5 billion fragrance sales, $300,000 for a 1 hour party appearance and $1 million per DJ set: Inside Paris Hiltons self made $3 billion empire

‘You’re worth more than your parents’: Over the last twelve years Paris Hilton has been quietly been building an empire, which includes 50 stores, 19 product lines and sales from her 23 different fragrances in excess of $2.5 billion

‘When I was growing up, my parents were super strict, so I decided one day, I’m just going to work so hard, and become so successful, that I’m never going to have to ask for anything ever.’

That was Paris Hilton’s reply to Australian radio network KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O on Wednesday, after they asked her what it felt like to be worth more than her parents.

The revelation shocked the hosts, who learned the extent of the 36-year-old’s retail empire, encompassing 50 stores, 19 product lines and sales from her 23 different fragrances exceeding $2.5 billion ($3.29 billion Australian).

‘Well I have 19 product lines so I make everything from fragrances, clothing, shoes, makeup, skincare line jewellery, lingerie and dog clothes,’ Paris proudly explained.

‘They’re all very successful, but the fragrances are incredibly successful.’

Successful is an understatement, with the company already reporting $1.3 billion USD (1.7 AUD) in sales back in 2005, with recent reports estimating a current figure closer to $3 billion (3.9 AUD), according to Stylecaster.

In that 12 years, Paris has developed the second-most successful celebrity fragrance line of all time, behind only Liz Taylor.

She’s in the country to promote Rosé Rush – the 23rd fragrance she’s released since 2004 – with retailer Chemist Warehouse expecting a massive attendance at Thursday’s Birkenhead Point meet-and-greet.

$3 billion! Successful is an understatement, with the company already reporting $1.3 billion USD in sales 12 years ago in 2005, with recent reports estimating a current figure closer to $3 billion

Fans will have to make-do with the Chemist Warehouse location, given the fact the megastar is yet to open one of her 50 Paris Hilton accessory stores in the country.

That may well change shortly, however, with the reality star telling the LA Times last year: ‘There are 50 Paris Hilton stores now, and we’re opening 200 more.’

She also proudly boasted the fact she was getting into the real estate and tech markets, but, embodying her business mogul status, replied coyly: ‘It’s top secret right now, so I can’t talk about them yet.’

All told, her 19 different product lines were last said to earn the heiress more than $10 million ($13 million AUD) a year in sales – which according to recent reports, is equivalent to around 15-hours DJ work for Paris.

In 2014, The Guardian claimed the blonde bombshell earns up to $1 million ($1.32 million AUD) per DJ set (typically 1.5 hours), the majority of which take place in Ibiza, China and Dubai.

It’s a tad higher than her reported $300,000 ($395,000 AUD) ‘party appearance fee’ rate, which covers Paris’ cost to simply turn up at the event, where she’ll sometimes stay for little more than one hour.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Paris is currently valued conservatively at $300 million ($395 million AUD) up $200 million in the space of four years.

She acknowledged her rightful status as one of the Hilton’s most successful, and undoubtedly most famous, during her radio interview Wednesday.

‘My Grandfather, he’s so cute, he said recently “I used to be known as Baron Hilton, but now I’m just known as Paris Hilton’s grandfather.”‘
